National athlete Seung-Gi Lee, 22, brought himself to the spotlight on his adult debut performance on November 11 in the UAE Arab Emirates game. Although being a rookie on his major game, Lee showed strong boldness on the A match and aided Geun-Ho Lee to kick the ultimate goal that ended the game with Korea’s win 2-0.
Lee was put into the game on the last 19 minutes of the game, but he bravely passed through the opponent’s defense and kicked a kill-pass on the left-lateral side which linked with Geun-Ho Lee’s ultimate win goal. Director Cho commented after the game, “I was planning to put Seung-Gi Lee on the second half and he showed a wonderful performance on the ground. I expect great things from this athlete. All the coaches recommended him. I love his simple playing style and his great pass timing.”
Lee is a new mid-fielder added this year. Showing skills not like a newcomer’s, Lee marked his presence on the K-League 27 game with 8 goals, leading to his addition in the national team. The general public predicts that the promising athlete will lead Korean soccer to greater success.
Cho hinted Lee’s next performance on the Lebanon game at the Bay Ruth Sports Stadium. Lee’s great play appealed and gave immense confidence to Cho, but his major entrance to stardom will open based on his performance on the Lebanon game to certify him the new lead role.
