Energy drinks are becoming so popular these days to the students who study late at night or to the businessmen who work late at night. Energy drinks help them to stay awake, and stimulates the central nerves to temporarily prevent sleepiness. Many people drink this beverage to keep their mind clear.
However, recent research has found that one of the drinks contains poisonous cocaine and causes tongue paralysis. As a result, countries like Taipei, Hong Kong and Germany have forbidden the sale of those drinks. This was shocking news for those who enjoy the drink.
Other drinks aren’t completely safe, either. You can become addicted to caffein if you keep drinking them. Another research has also found out that it makes you hyper and overenergetic, and therefore not an appropriate way to chase away your sleep.
Then what else can take away your sleep? First, drinking a lot of water can help you to not be so sleepy. As you drink water, blood is carried all throughout your body, and your metabolism improves. It also helps you become more active.
Second, avoid food that brings sleep, such as bananas or almonds. Melatonin inside bananas makes you fall asleep and magnesium inside almonds makes your muscles relaxed, causing you to become sleepy. But eating these foods before you sleep can help you to fall into a deep, well-rested sleep.
Last, massaging your heads and hands can help, too. It helps you to clear your brain, and also stimulates the peripheral nerves located in your ears and neck.
There are lots of ways to chase away your sleep, but the best way to remove it is to have a good night’s rest and sleep. These days, many people say that if you sleep a lot, you will lag behind those who study or work instead. However in order to maintain good health, it is advised to try to sleep at least 6~7 hours a day and instead study or work hard during the day.
