During this period, everyone is collectively “grounded” by the government. Although this may sound very restraining, there are many benefits that can come from this. Let’s focus on photography, for example.
Photography can be used in many situations, and can be a fun hobby. People of all ages can take up this hobby and maybe even learn that it is one of their talents. To learn the art of photography, all one needs is some type of camera; either from phones, disposables, film, automatic, or manual. From all shapes, sizes, and prices, one can learn the basics of photography. During a time of social quarantine, one will be less likely to practice street photography, but they can still incorporate beings into their photos. Photoshoots with family members or quality photos of their pets are both great examples. Taking pictures of others or objects is a great way to start the photography journey. From there, one can take off and learn different tactics as well as edit their photos.
Photography is also a great form of expression. One can capture different meanings through the same pictures, or the same meaning through different pictures. A few tips on improving one’s photography can be: learning how to work the settings on your camera, using tools like tripods or learning how to structure your camera. There are so many great ways to learn photography from online lessons to books.
One great add-on to photography is editing pictures. Although editing and photoshop have a whole world within them, they are great to pair with photography. If pictures do not turn out the way that you wanted, you can always touch them up with editing. Whether it’s lighting, saturation, white balance, or more, you can fix it. This also brings a more creative aspect to photography. You can take something very simple and turn it into whatever you like.
Take this time of quarantine and stay home! Everyone is affected by the quarantine, young or old. Boredom can be replaced with many hobbies, and photography is a great one to start.
