As most coronavirus restrictions are being lifted, the world is transitioning towards “normal” life. Recently, families have been planning trips and vacations in order to fill their summer with meaningful experiences. The past year and a half has limited travel, therefore, many people have been craving the act of riding on a plane, train, or merely going outside of their homes. Personally, my family planned a short trip to San Diego, California, and during this vacation, we made many valuable memories.
In San Diego, there are numerous spots with great views of the ocean. The Sunset Cliffs Natural Park is one of the places my family visited during this trip. Sunset Cliffs is an area in Point Loma that is 68 acres and presents remarkable views of the ocean. The unique coastal environment features the beautiful ocean, cliffs, and caves that can be seen while taking a walking route. The area has space for free parking, and is open during daytime hours. It was a wonderful experience walking around and looking at all of the wonderful nature views with my family members. Sunset cliffs has been a popular attraction for San Diego residents as well as visitors, so it may be a great place to visit if you happen to be in the area.
Another popular place many vacationers visit in San Diego is the Seaport Village. This area attracts many visitors due to its plethora of activities and stores. Many people walk around to look at and buy goods from these small stores, however, there are also more interactive activities like family biking around the area or going on a boat ride to look at seals. These activities can help make meaningful memories and allow you to enjoy quality time with your loved ones. With my family, I was able to visit small shops and gaze at the ocean. One store was filled with San Diego magnets, and my family bought one as a reminder of our trip. Seaport Village has lots of enjoyable activities and foods to eat.
On my short trip to San Diego, these were the two places that I will not forget. It was an extremely enjoyable experience with my family, especially because it has been so long since we were able to go on a proper vacation. However, even though people may think coronavirus restrictions are fully eliminated, it is important to wear your mask and distance yourself from others. It is significant to practice these safety measures, particularly when you are with a crowd of people in public places. I hope, as our society slowly returns to its “normal” state, more families and friends will be able to enjoy a proper vacation.
