It was the month of January and the week of Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, and the weather was turbulent and stormy. But the bad weather didn’t stop the thousands of people from gathering around the busy port of Long Beach to go on a four day Carnival Inspiration Cruise vacation.
The 855 ft long ship traveled from the port of Long Beach and stopped by Ensenada, Mexico, before returning to Long Beach. The Carnival cruise was enjoyed by many people, for it is a fun way to travel to another country under a short period of time. Young teenagers, newlyweds, and seniors entered the cruise ship, excitement and wonder filling their faces as they took out their cameras to take photographs of the colorful elevators and the outside pools.
Like this Carnival cruise, other cruise ships also share similar entertainment in the ship. Entertainment includes kids clubs, water parks, comedy shows, musicals, and clubs. The wide array of fun things to do provides entertainment for all ages and all kinds of people.
The people can also go out when the ship makes a day stop, to adventure out of the ship.
When you first exit the ship, you are greeted by tour guides who will help you choose what you want to do during your day on land. There are activities both fun for younger and older people like food tasting tours, ziplining, horseback riding, city tours on a bus, and more. These activities are not only fun and interactive, but also at a good affordable price for the whole family.
The food is also a crucial part of the ship.
The cruise provides 24 hour access to food, specifically the pizza bar and the drinks. The main dining lounge also provides food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a different theme every meal. Foods from steak, soup, sandwiches, omelettes, fruits, and a range of sweet desserts crowd the dining tables. The ship also provides an alternate option of formal dining held in certain dining rooms located throughout the ship. The people dress formally and enjoy a classy brunch and dinner, where the menu serves elaborate and often exotic food.
Often during the dinner, entertainment is involved, the flashing lights dimming to a musty yellow and the servers dancing choreographed dances and putting on a fun performance.
Susie Song, a 14 year old student who recently went on a cruise, talks about her experiences with the cruise vacation.
“I have been on a cruise three times and I have enjoyed all the three times I have went. I loved going to the kids club and making new friends and meeting new people. Going to Mexico was also very fun because I explored the city and went horseback riding and ziplining. I know that later I will go again with my family and friends.”
People may wonder why a cruise might be a good vacation idea, but the affordable prices and all the benefits you get with the price makes the cruise cheaper than going to other places. A family of five went on this cruise for about $1,300 excluding outside activities. This is about $260 for each person going on the cruise. This package includes 24 hours access to food and drinks, a 3 night hotel room at the ship, and many free activities such as the kids club, game tournaments, shows, and more. Not only do you get to stay out in the water, but you also get to go to a different country, all for just $260 per person.
Going to another country by plane can already cost hundreds of dollars, not including hotel stay, food, and transportation. This makes a cruise vacation very affordable for families and friends who want to travel on a budget.
