Constantly getting exposed to sensational technologies that promise exaggerated impacts, we often roll our eyes when we see another technology that will supposedly change the world. However, Tesla’s new electric car will undoubtedly change the world we live in.
Recently, Tesla Motors revealed its newest sedan, the long-awaited Model 3. Even with its handsome silhouette, incredible performance, and a range of 215 miles, the Model 3 starts at an unbelievable price of $27,500 base price. Its battery goes from 0 to 60 mph in under six seconds.
Since 2012, Tesla Motors produced the Model S sedan and the Model X SUV. Since Tesla CEO Elon Musk launched the innovative electric vehicle Model S, the sedan has received constant praise. Both Motor Trend and Automobile magazines crowned it as the car of the year in 2013. However, the Model S started had a hefty price tag–its current average sale price is $105,000.
Soon, Porsche, Audi, and BMW jumped into the electric-vehicle market with luxurious and efficient models such as the BMW i series. Despite this, Tesla held its place in the market. However, the profit margins of Tesla Motors is not the priority of Elon Musk. He wants to, and will, change the world with the Model 3.
“I guarantee you that no other car in the world with the same price-range even comes close to the caliber of the Model 3,” said Matthew Schulman, a former Model S owner and car enthusiast.
In its first several days, the Model 3 racked up more than 232,000 pre-orders. The Model 3, living up to Musk’s high-risk investment, is already bringing the zero-emission EV dream to reality.
