On September 9th, the San Marino Titans took a beating against the Schurr Spartans with the score of 42-7.
The Schurr Spartans had big plays to secure each touchdown. Four of their touchdowns were scored on plays that were 40 yards or longer. Schurr quarterback, Miguel Aguero, was the star of the game. He threw well executed touchdowns and ran to the end zone for two scores.
Schurr’s defense kept the Titans at bay all night by forcing six three-and-outs. San Marino was only able to score in the third quarter.
Despite winning CIF last year, this game made it the third consecutive loss for the San Marino Titans in the young season, leaving them 0-3. Last year, San Marino football achieved a 15-1 record in their overall season, defeating Charter Oak High School in the CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) Southern section championship game.
With the Titans now 0-3 in the preseason, San Marino will need to adjust their game plan after losing key players, such as standouts Carson Glazier and JP Shofi, in order to have a chance at playoffs berth in league this year.
