It is a scorching hot day in the city of Valencia with temperatures reaching triple digits, and people are trying to find ways to cool off in the heat. Some may go swimming, while others may just lay on the couch with the air conditioner blasting. However, an increasing number of people are now going to Boba Time, a well-known franchised boba shop that has been mainly located around the Los Angeles area.
The Boba Time shops have been a big hit with many people in Los Angeles, but this is the first time one of these shops has been built in the Santa Clarita Valley. After a slow start, this shop’s success took off as it overcame all the other boba and coffee shops in the valley.
Not only is Boba Time known for their delicious, chewy boba, but they are also popular for their smoothies and frappuccinos. But if you want to try something new, Boba Time also offers healthy acai bowls and icy cold shaved ice.
When asked why they chose to locate here, one of the Boba Time employees told JSR, “Well, our owner thought it would be a good idea to locate in a place where there are not many boba shops, and so we could introduce the unique flavors of boba while giving them cold and hot drinks. Also, SCV is usually very hot during the summer so we wanted to give the people a different way to refresh and cool themselves off.”
Jonathan Bae told JSR, “On a really hot day, I used to really crave boba but the only good boba places are in LA so I could never get it. But when I heard Boba Time was built in SCV, I got super excited. I could get boba everyday!!”
When the shop was first built, some were skeptical whether this shop would become as successful as the others ones in the Los Angeles area. Boba is typically very popular among Asian people, while other races are not as familiar with it. Santa Clarita’s population has a high percentage of Caucasian citizens, while Los Angeles has many boba-loving Asians. However, after a couple of weeks, this new shop soon became popular with the SCV locals, and more people keep coming everyday.
So if you ever need to cool down on a hot day in Santa Clarita, make sure to stop by the new Boba Time and try all the unique refreshers they have to offer.
