“Make Your Voice Heard” has been set as the theme of the Korea Daily’s 7th Annual Summer Leadership Camp and will take place on the beautiful Pepperdine University campus in Malibu, California from June 19 – June 24, 2017.. Appropriate to the theme, new and improved activities are awaiting that will instill confidence, leadership, and critical thinking skills in students through teamwork and self-expression.
Over the six exciting days, students will attend workshops to enrich their knowledge about journalism and its impact in society. Also, by participating in public speech sessions, students will practice self-expression by learning to organize their thoughts and opinions before presentation. Besides the academic lectures, facilitated by great mentors and key speakers, various games and group activities have also been prepared. All of this will ensure that the participants return home with fun memories and lasting relationships.
On the last day of camp, everyone will present the net results of all their fruitful experiences throughout the camp within their groups. Parents are more than welcome to participate in this showcase and experience what their children have built and learned from the camp.
Students can participate as either a mentee (5th – 8th grade) or a mentor (9th – 12th grade). The registration fee is $750, but if you register before April 30, 2017 you will be offered a 10% discount.
