The Korea Daily will host its sixth annual Leadership Camp from Jun. 20 to 25 on the beautiful campus of Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif.
“Make Your Voice Heard” will be the theme of this year’s Leadership Camp. The week’s main goal is to bring out the leadership potential within students by stressing critical thinking, self-expression, and cooperation.
Over the six days, students will attend workshops to enrich their knowledge of journalism and to learn about the role of news in society. Also, by participating in group debates, they will have opportunities to organize and express their thoughts about current social issues. Besides all the learning, we have prepared various games and group activities to add some fun!
On the last day, each group will give a presentation that reflects its own voice and style. Parents are welcome to participate in this last day Showcase to see what their children have learned from camp.
Students can participate as either a mentee (entering 5th through 9th grade) or a mentor (entering 10th grade and above). The cost for mentees is $900, and the cost for mentors is $700. The mentors will receive 50 hours of volunteering credit. Mentees can register at a discounted price ($800) if they submit their application before Apr. 30.
