On Nov. 14 and 15, Agoura High School’s class of 2016 presented talent shows at the newly-built Performing Arts Education Center (PAEC). A total of 18 groups performed. All the participants showed off their amazing talents in front of an audience of 1,200 people.
J. Kim, one of the contestants of the night, explained, “This is a great opportunity… to experience what it is like to be up on a stage. Especially with the new PAEC which is built to project acoustic effects better, I am very excited to perform here tonight.”
D. Scott-Ramirez and B. Babylon won third place for singing “Counting Stars” by OneRepublic and “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley. They made a medley of these pieces to make them sound like one song. The second place winner, D. Levitan, sang “Time to Say Goodbye” by Sarah Brightman.
The honor of the first place was given to freshman A. Muccitelli. He performed the recent hit “Royals” by Lorde with piano accompaniment. Muccitelli gladly accepted the trophy along with cheerful applause from the crowd.
“It was a lot of fun to watch my peers showing off their hidden talents,” says B. Higa, a sophomore in the audience said. “This year’s talent show was more special for me and rest of my friends since it was the sophomore class that held the talent show of 2013.”
