On Sunday, April 22, the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) will be hosting its 75th Anniversary NACAC National College Fair in Orange County at the Anaheim Convention Center from 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
The fair is free and open to the public, as more than 220 colleges and universities will offer students, parents, and counselors with the valuable opportunity to ask questions, gather information, and learn more about various school programs and majors.
Choosing the right college is an important decision that influences the next four years of one’s life. Yet, as the world abounds with a plethora of schools and areas of study, students may feel overwhelmed and unsure of where to begin.
The purpose of the fair is to provide families with the resources and first steps in determining which school is the “right fit” for their children. As students acquire more information regarding campus life, financial aid, school activities, and application requirements, the NACAC strives to assist students in discovering their colleges of interest.
Every year, more than 850 students gather at NACAC college fairs to engage in discussions with admissions representatives. The fair provides informative workshops covering NCAA College Athletics, California Public Universities and Colleges, Test Prep for College Admissions, What you need to know about Financial Aid, Selective College Admissions, and Admissions 101- The Basics of the Application Cycle.
In order to make the best out of the NACAC Fair experience, it is encouraged that one does the following:
1) Look over the list of college participants, prior to attending the event.
2) Determine which college best suits your needs- whether it be public, private, in state, out of state, military, faith-based, community, or single-gender.
3) Discuss college plans with family, friends, teachers, and guidance counselors.
4) Compile a list of questions for admissions representatives, and topics for discussion.
Whether a freshmen, sophomore, or junior, it is never too early to begin preparation for college. By investing time into college research, students will have a clearer grasp of their expectations, and be better equipped to find the perfect school and, ultimately, make the right decision.

I really liked the organization of the article overall. The information was concise yet efficient, and there weren’t any confusing sections of the article.
For such a local event, however, I’d suggest finding quotes of various individuals affiliated with the fair (like students).
