Zeus was unable to fight back as god lost their power due to lack of prayers from humans. Hades and Ares captured Zeus in order to unleash Cronus, who is father of all gods, to the earth. Cronus was imprisoned in Underworld as gods and goddess overthrew him.
After Poseidon, who is god of Sea and brother of Zeus, came to Perseus to inform him about the capture of Zeus, Perseus starts a journey to underworld to rescue Zeus along with Andromeda (Rosamund Pike) and Agenor, who is son of Poseidon (Toby Kebbell).
They first go to the island where Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), who is god of blacksmithing, in order to find a way to enter the underworld. As they reached the island, they were attacked by Cyclops, who were giants with only one eye. However, as Cyclops recognized Perseus as son of Zeus, they led Perseus and his group to Hephaestus.
Hephaestus led Perseus and his group to the entrance of the underword, but Ares appeared and started to attack them. Perseus and his groups were able to enter the underworld as Hephaestus sacrificed himself to hold Ares from following them.
Finally, Perseus succeed to rescue Zeus, however, Cronus was already awaken. Only way to kill Cronus was to combine Zeus’ lightning bolt with Poseidon’s trident to produce the most powerful weapon. Perseus only had Trident and Ares had Zeus’ thunderbolt. So, Perseus fights Ares at the temple of Mount Olympus. Perseus was able to kill Ares and retrieve the Zeus’ lightning bolt.
Perseus combined lightning bolt with trident and flew to Cronus by riding Pegasus, which was winged horse. Cronus was defeated and killed by Perseus. After the death of Cronus, Zeus died as he used all of his powers.
Wrath of Titans performed the superiority of Greek gods by showing their ability and power. Since Greek mythology became popular in English classes, people might want to see Greek mythology visually. And the storyline of this movie explain the end of Greek mythology as all gods and goddess died at the end of movie, which mean no gods and goddess were presented to rule the world. This movie contains great adventure, action, and demonstration of Greek mythology that it is recommended to watch.
