Long past the tangled path of the Pinal Jalpan woods leading to Pueblo Corea of Queretaro, Mexico, on the 14th of October, members of the Vive Mejor Association and the Samsung Electronics Queretaro branch arrived at Jardin de Ninos Victor Frank to lend a warm helping hand to the kindergarteners.
This cooperative and voluntary act was unprecedented at many levels. Essentially, this occasion was the first time mass scale scholastic equipment and daycare services were donated to the kindergarten that, “is currently a place that is isolated from government fundings and subsidies and has to go through ordeals of maintaining adequate learning environments solely from local financial contributions,” as claimed by Fernando Gonzalez, the head of the kindergarten.
Clearly, the supportive benefits were signs of these organizations’ humility and appreciation for the prosperity of the children who are in imminent need of humanitarian and/or material aid regardless. Acknowledging the depressing conditions under which these children have to endure daily, the Vive Mejor Association and the Samsung Electronic Queretaro branch quickly took part in offering help, ending the long-lived skepticism of whether or not providing these services would be successful in the first place.
As evidenced from the president of the Samsung Electronic Queretaro branch, “there is no time to waste in the light of suffering children and diminishing futures. Help must be given, and Samsung Electronic Queretaro branch will be happy to donate electronic utilities, seeing that those are critically lacking in the kindergarten.”
And of course, the workers at the Jardin de Ninos Victor Frank were certainly delighted to see such contributions nourish their kindergarten. From what Nubia Guadalupe Rangel, the kindergarten chef stated in an interview with JSR, “ it’s been awhile since we’ve last received any aid from outside bodies. Originally, our kindergarten didn’t have enough refrigerators to contain all of the food, making some to rot. But now, we have all that we need to make the lives of the children easier. We’ve even got more comfortable floors to ensure the children’s safety.”
On top of that, the Vive Mejor Association, one of the main actors in compensating for the gaps in the lack of attention given to these kindergartens, provided a smashing 150 composition notebooks and few hundred pencils along with dozens of children story books to make up for the education level needed for kindergarten children. As told by the director manager of the Vive Mejor Association, Yuldelma Graciela Elizarraga Vargas, “it puts a smile on my face, rather, to see how joyful the children of these despondent areas can be when even the littlest of help is given to them. Again, I come to realize how powerful the words, ‘A small change can make a big difference’ can be.”
Starting from the 14th of October, the voluntary aid lasted until the 28th of October, with the final few days dedicated to daycare services that mainly focused on the educational development of the kindergarteners. Activities done on these valuable days include reading stories, teaching basic maths, and playing engaging physical games with the bright and energetic young ones. The extent of the alacrity was very ample; the children were able to truly feel the warmth radiating to them. Diego Flores de Santiago, 5 years old of the Jardin de Ninos Victor Frank, in an interview with JSR, said, “I’m so happy, I can starting running with my friends right now! The playground is so cool now! Thank you for making my school the best!”
