For the new year, many people have made the resolution to live a healthier lifestyle. The third month of 2017 has passed and we are now entering April. Unfortunately, people have already given up on fitness and health due to the lack of motivation.
Many think that in order to see a change, money has to be spent on gym memberships or enrollments in specialized diet programs. This reason itself is the main factor that contributes to the quitting of trying to live more healthily.
However, just with motivation, people can change their lifestyles without spending a lot of money. Exercising three times a week can make a big difference in people’s lifestyles. The exercise can be anything including tennis, swimming, running, or even walking. Also, maintaining a balanced diet is also a big factor in improving one’s health. Eating a healthy meal at home, instead of eating out, can save people from spending money and give them a jumpstart.
It takes three to nine weeks to create a habit. By following a routine of a balanced diet and exercising at least three times a week, one can create a sustainable habit. Cutting out junk foods can also help with this process. This does not mean that you can never eat out. But, once people adapt to their new lifestyles, results will start to surface after only a few weeks. This motivates people to keep on exercising.
Additionally, for athletes, there is a term called a “runner’s high.” When running, there is a boost in your energy and mood due to the release of endorphins in the brain. Doing any kind of exercise can help people feel good and motivate them to keep on going.
Exercising not only brings people health, but also improves memory and helps the brain. Moreover, people can feel more comfortable in their own skin and be confident. Therefore, exercising at least three times a week and eating healthier will help people create a habit and adjust to the different, but healthier lifestyle in a decent amount of time.
