The city of Palos Verdes may be a friendly and peaceful one, but when it comes to social events, many residents find it difficult to find somewhere they haven’t dined at ten times. This is just one of the few reasons why the grand opening of both the Habit Burger & Grill and Chipotle sparked great excitement.
“We’re positive about the success of the new restaurants,” said General Manager Jonathan Alpert in his interview with the Daily Breeze. “Since our town is filled with residents of all ages, the additions will help provide more tenancies and uses that serve the community.”
Although it has now been quite a few months since the two restaurants opened at the Rolling Hills Estates location, the satisfaction of the new additions increases by the day.
“Don’t get me wrong, I love my community, but I really needed somewhere new to hang out with my friends and family,” said junior Nick Chang from Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. “That’s why I was so excited to finally have a better burger and burrito place than we’ve had for years.”
Unfortunately for these residents, however, the two eateries took almost three months longer than expected. With the tragic accident on October 18, 2015, in which a drunk driver crashed his car onto the buildings, the entire site was burnt down and construction was unable to be continued until after a few weeks.
“I was mad that such an accident happened,” said one a rising sophomore at Palos Verdes High School. “I wanted to be able to get a post-volleyball snack at Chipotle every week, but the accident ruined my exciting plan.”
After the welcoming May opening, however, both restaurants are now serving and satisfying more than one hundred customers a day.
“The wait was long, but I’m so glad to finally have restaurants that I constantly craved for,” said Chang. “PV made a great decision that everyone appreciates.”
