For female students these days, dieting is very important. Since many of the famous celebrities are almost all super skinny, students are now starting to think that the body shapes of celebrities are normal. It is very important for students to be able to realize that celebrities are only superskinny because they need to look good infront of people. They need to realize that we have a job of being a student and they have a job of being a celebrity.
According to Jae-Rin Yim, a student at Hankuk Academy of Foreign Studies, “Many female students keep saying, “I should go on a diet. I’ve gained too much weight”. Students these days believe that they should look like the models and the K-pop idols.”
This causes lots of stress on female students, because even though they are in the healthy, normal range, they believe that they are too fat. They believe that by the time you are in high school, you must weigh 100 lbs at most.
These days, many female students are willing to do all kinds of deeds to lose weight. There are many different types of diets that people are doing that are very dangerous. According to Abbie Uychiat, a staff member of the Latin Post, there are many dangerous diets that people are doing.
People are going to extremes, such as taking diet pills, doing the Grapefruit Diet and doing liquid-only diets. Some diets can be dangerous, physically and/or mentally.
Although losing weight is good for those who are truly overweight, risking your life to lose weight isn’t right. There are many other ways that people can lose weight. Having the body of a celebrity isn’t always the correct thing. People have to start gaining confidence in themselves.
