Zara, a clothing store known for its trendy and chic attire, is soon opening a branch at the Glendale Galleria. Teenagers are looking forward to the store as an alternative to the adult-oriented Zara store at Old Pasadena.
According to senior Alyce Cho from La Canada High School, the Old Pasadena Zara is frequented by people in their twenties and older, which impacts the diversity of clothes.
She told JSR, “I went into the store excited, but left disappointed because all the clothes looked like clothes for adults. Therefore, I ended up not buying anything.”
Old Pasadena is not accessible for students and is not a common place to go to hang out. On the other hand, the new Zara at the Glendale Galleria is a popular hangout place because it is close to more schools and the Americana. So, Zara may be able to improve its popularity with teens.
Junior Jennifer Kim, also from La Canada, stated, “I really love Zara, and the fact that it is going to be at the Glendale Galleria made me love it even more. It is also so much more convenient that it is going to be here because the Americana is right next to it, and I usually shop there more than anywhere else.”
Not only will it become convenient for students, but it may also become easier for adults, too.
Soo Jin Hong, a mother of three teenagers said, “When I take my kids shopping I usually just sit in the car and wait for them because I can not really shop at stores at the Americana or the Glendale Galleria. But, when I heard rumors of a Zara coming to the Glendale Galleria, I was happy. When it opens, I can finally have time to shop for myself and not rush my kids. It became a win win situation for both my kids and me.”
Zara will open soon on Level Two of the Galleria.
