On Friday, August 16, the Nachimban Church in Brea will host One Way Mission Team’s fourth concert to raise funds for the North Korean Mission Cause.
The One Way Mission Team was founded at Living Stone Methodist Church in Stanton, Calif. in 2006 by three high school students who were dedicated to expressing their religious beliefs through dance. Today, the group includes high school students, college students and graduates who remain united through their advocacy on behalf of the North Korean people. They have also traveled to places such as Washington D.C. and Mexico to do missionary work.
“One Way Mission is a non-profit Christian dance team,” said member Laura Cho. “We ignite our passion for God by dancing, and we perform to share this passion to other people.”
One Way Mission Team holds several events every year that raise funds to support impoverished children in North Korea. A total of $33,333 was raised at their dance concert in 2010.
One Way will welcome Ben Courson, an Oregon-based pastor and author of “A Generation Chosen,” to speak at this year’s event.
“Ben Courson’s books really challenge and inspire you,” stated Laura Cho, a junior member of One Way. “ It’s a real eye-opener. His words are easy to comprehend and it really relates to our daily lives.”
“The concert this year is $10 at the door.” said Yuko Shimura, sophomore member of One Way. “I really hope many people come to support us. It’s going to be an amazing night for everyone to remember.”
