The United States won the Presidents Cup held on the 20th at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club against the International Team 19-15, but Korea’s athletes were able to publicize themselves from their satisfactory performance this year.
K.J. Choi, the oldest of the players, decorated Korea by beating the group of Tiger Woods-Steve Stricker on the first play. He was also titled “Expert of Bunker Shots” because of his miraculous bunker shot on the last day of the Presidents Cup. Recording 3 win 2 loss, Choi ranked the highest out of the Korean players commenting on the question about the 2015 Presidents Cup planned to be held in South Korea, “I hope to be still playing at that time.”
Rookie Kyung-Tae Kim showed an especially wonderful performance on the 19th Four Ball play by beating Woods’s group. With Y.E. Yang in his group, Kim was able to lead the title of “Hunters of Tigers.” Australian and the oldest player of the International Team Greg Norman eyed positively on Kim, “Kim’s match play was very strong.” Kim beat U.S. Webb Simpson on the final Singles Match and recorded with 2 win 2 loss. Yang recorded 1 win 3 loss.
On the other hand, Tiger Woods showed the worst performance out of the 12 leading players of U.S. until he beat the International Team player Aaron Baddeley on Sunday’s Single Matches. United States were able to lead their record of four consecutive wins of the Presidents Cup including this year.
The 2013 Presidents Cup is planned to be held in Dublin Ohio, with the proceeding 2015 Cup planned to be held in South Korea.
